If these walls could talk

We have a problem in our house. Blank walls. We’ve lived here 2 years, and don’t have much stuff on the walls to show for it. Blank walls can be intimidating, staring at you like the answer spaces on an Calculus final.

BlikPaint is fine, and you can do a lot with it. I wouldn’t dream of attempting to hang wallpaper. Framed art is great, but gets pricey pretty quickly. So in the kids rooms we’ve hung wall decals. There are a lot of fun options out there, and the thing I like about them is they’re quick, and they don’t require you to be exact. You can just kind of throw them up, and they look great. You can pick them up at your local Home Depot, or Michaels, but the web has a lot of terrific and unusual offerings.

Bilk has some amazing wall decals. Some are even re-stickable, so you can use them over and over again.
Antoine+Manuel have some very unusual decals, that are very modern and geometric.

If you’re feeling daring, and want to attempt wallpaper, Blankwalls and PlanetprofilCow_2 specialize in turning digital art into wall paper. Some of their selections, like this cow, don’t cover the whole wall, and probably wouldn’t be too difficult to tackle.

Another out of the ordinary option are these beautiful murals from Nadia Sparham. They’re a little out of my price range, but beautiful!
